WESTERN MAINE
The brief for this project was to design a small live-work concept that includes everything occupants would need to reside comfortably in the space year-round. Designs were limited to a 20’ x 20’ x 20’ footprint, and any windows or doors had to be confined to opposing walls of our choosing. I chose to locate my design in the mountains of Western Maine and developed my concept with a young couple and flexible WFH lifestyle in mind. Materials focus on locally sourced pine shiplap and Vermont marble, while sculptural organic shapes and historically significant artwork and furnishings blend past and present in the main living areas.
